To make Freaky Friday work perfectly; you would have to believe that Jamie Lee Curtis is Lindsay Lohan and Lindsay Lohan is Jamie Lee Curtis.Although at times it seemed that way,at other times,it just seemed like Lohan was trying to be Curtis and Curtis was trying to be Lohan.Any way you look at it,Freaky Friday is a family-friendly film that tries to please everyone, and does.It pleases shallow teen prep girls because of Chad Michael Murray. It pleases teen boys because of Lindsay Lohan. It pleases older men because of a Jamie Lee Curtis thong shot.It pleases older women because of Mark Harmon. It pleases the whole family, being that they already saw Finding Nemo and it's the only other family movie out there.
Tess Coleman (Jamie Lee Curtis) (changed from Ellen Andrews from the novel by Mary Rodgers) is a harried psychiatrist who still has time for her family.Anna Colemen (Lohan) (changed from Annabel Andrews) is supposed to be a typical teenager (but is anything but),and has daily fights with her younger brother Harry (Ryan Malgarini) (changed from Ben Andrews).Tess is going to marry Ryan (Harmon),because her husband died three years ago (can't there be a Disney movie with both parents still alive?),of whom Anna doesn't approve. After a fueled feud,Tess and Anna open fortune cookies that switch bodies:Tess is in Anna's body, and vice versa.Whatever will be done?
Although most people have praised Curtis for her accurate portrayal of a typical teen (although with the people at my school, what she does is anything but typical),and she should be,Lohan does better at being an adult. If Lohan,a teenager, could be an adult so well, that's rather scary.I thought at most times Lohan was Tess, but Curtis was having too much fun as Anna to really be thought of as great.Instead of acting like Lohan,Curtis just acts like a young kid who just ate too much ice cream.
One part of Freaky Friday that I didn't like is how often we were put in an awkward situation. And when they were there, they just didn't seem plausible. All of a sudden,Anna-as-Tess is a guest on a talk show, talks to someone she has a crush on,and watches Tess-as-Anna perform? Not only were they awkward, they were just not believable. On the other hand,Freaky Friday not only has some genuinely funny moments, but is also quite touching at times.Obviously,it was going to be,and Tess and Anna were going to learn to respect each other, considering it was shown in the trailer.
One other part I didn't like was how far it strayed from the book.It only focused on Anna-as-Tess (Annabel-as-Ellen),and how she spent her day.Of course, back then she was a housewife, but now she has to be a successful doctor.I do admire it for changing it,unlike others, which is basically watching the book.Overall,Freaky Friday is a likable, pleasant 90-minute diverter. It won't change your life, but you won't be upset you saw it.
My rating:7/10
Rated PG for mild thematic elements and some language.

By all rights,"Freaky Friday" should have been little more than a cinematic footnote, the latest example of a movie remake that didn't need to be made. But sometimes the seemingly impossible happens, and filmmakers actually manage to improve on creaky material. For example, this re-do of the 1977 Jodie Foster vehicle, later remade for TV's "Wonderful World of Disney" 1995 with Shelley Long in the mother role,is funnier, sweeter and more charming than either previous version.A lot of that has to do with Jamie Lee Curtis, who stars as Tess Coleman,a workaholic therapist about to remarry. Her high-maintenance teenage daughter Anna (Lindsay Lohan) isn't too thrilled about it,and the two spend most of their time butting heads. That all changes in a hurry after a hex causes them to switch bodies.Suddenly Tess finds herself having to deal with tests, teachers and a would-be boyfriend (Chad Michael Murray),while Anna has to cope with neurotic patients and figure out what to do about the impending nuptials.Even more daunting is the fact that these seemingly polar opposites will have to cooperate with each other if they're going to find a way out of their predicament.Director Mark Waters is smart to keep the tone light fast-paced,so that some of the character inconsistencies and plot holes aren't glaring.Besides,he's got two most appealing screen heroines in Curtis and Lohan. The former is clearly having a ball here. It's easy to forget just how funny she can be — it's been a long time since "A Fish Called Wanda." As for the latter, this is her second Disney remake (including the 1998 re-do of "The Parent Trap") and again she impresses; so why has it been five years since we've seen her?As for their male co-stars,Mark Harmon is appropriately subdued as Tess' fiance, while veteran Harold Gould steals his scenes as Tess' somewhat confused father.
I really think that this movie is good for people of all ages to see. Each actor/actress does well in his/her own right. This modern day variation of the book turned out to be a very good rendition of an old favorite.Jamie Lee Curtis plays (extremely well) the high-tech working single mom,who has a hard time making time for or even understanding her rock and roll loving teenage daughter played by Lindsay Lohan (who you may recognize from the Parent Trap remake).I recommend it for anyone who is looking for a good family movie to see.
Forrest Gump An absolute film favourite of mine, mainly because there has never been a movie character that I have appreciated so much as Forrest Gump.A simple man who experiences (and creates) some of the most significant events in American history, while all he really wants is to be with the woman he loves,Jenny.
Tom Hanks gave an incredible performance as Forrest,a man of 75 IQ who is waiting at a bus stop whilst telling his life story. As we see the story develop from him meeting both his sweetheart Jenny,Elvis Presley and being told 'run Forrest, run!' different people arrive at the bus stop and listen to him. Each meets his story with emotions ranging from enraptured to derision,as they learn with the audience the incredible life Forrest has led. This includes him starring in the All American Football team, winning a Congressional Medal of Honour in Vietnam, exposing the Watergate scandal and making millions from 'Bubba-Gump shrimping industries',while meeting three different U.S Presidents along the way.The film ends on a poignant note, with Jenny and Forrest meeting again and having a son,as Jenny dies of HIV/AIDS.
Along with Tom Hanks in the title role Forrest Gump featured an excellent supporting cast, with career bests from Robin Wright Penn as Jenny and Gary Sinise as the legless Vietnam veteran Lt.Dan Taylor.
I was inspired by the wonder of a man experiencing his life without realising its significance to the world, just simply wishing for an emotionally damaged woman who goes on to live a lonely life without him.She rejects Forrest, telling him 'he doesn't know what love is',before eventually realising that no-one would ever love her more.
Due to its preposterous plot line and sentimental tone,Forrest Gump could easily have descended into melodramatic mush peppered with phony special effects. However in the capable hands of screenwriter Roth and Zemeckis the movie becomes a highly entertaining yet profound account of one simple-minded man who goes on an enthralling quest. For such an audacious film there were amazingly few flaws (Forrest inspiring John Lennon to write the song 'Imagine' and the contrivances of him running across America the only examples I can recall).
Forrest Gump is a film that may well transcend anything of its kind.It gave us a character I had great sympathy and hope for,and reminded me that a person needs no intelligence to be an upstanding and admirable person.

《2012》英文影评:
The world is ending in a matter of hours, yet justice and humanity don’t penetrate through the brain-shells of politicians. In order to save their own lives, the government officials keep the secret from the rest of human kind and also lets the man whose knowledge saves their lives die. This is the premise of 2012.
But if the viewer is a Tibetan or someone who is aware of the Tibetan culture and the sensitivities of Tibetan issue, one could feel that the justice and humanity are not occurred in the director’s thought either.
And in real life ethically speaking,Mr.Emmerich failed to hire Tibetan actors who can speak their own language. All the actors who play Tibetan characters are Chinese very poorly pretending to be Tibetans.Their Tibetan is hundred times worse than Zhang Yi’s memorized English or Leonardo DiCaprio’s Swahili (well I can imagine!).
《第一滴血》英文影评:
First Blood arrived in theaters in October 1982,some seven and one-half years after the end of the Vietnam War.Veterans' rights were still a significant issue, although their prominence was waning. With its message about how returning soldiers had been marginalized by a divided country in desperate need of healing,First Blood sought to bring more to the table than the story of an unhinged survivalist lashing out at a bunch of close-minded bigots.Based on David Morrell's novel, the screenplay by Michael Kozoll,William Sackheim, and Stallone sought to mix politics with action. As established by the movie,Rambo wasn't merely the target of a group of small-minded local law enforcement officials, but the pawn of a system that created him then set him adrift and,in a larger sense,of a society that had no use for him beyond the soulless business of warfare. In First Blood,Rambo is a victim.
